Argentina Sets Implementation Timeline for New Energy Labelling Requirements for Clothes Washers

Argentinean authorities recently announced the timeline to implement certain new energy labelling requirements for clothes washers for household use as well as the provisions of standard IRAM 2141-3:2017. Specifically, domestic producers, importers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers of subject merchandise may commercialise any clothes washers in stock that were certified under the previous standard (IRAM 2141:3-2010) through 5 February 2018. These parties are required to submit a sworn declaration detailing their stock of subject merchandise, either in storage, at a retail or wholesale facility, or in transit from a foreign country. Unless this deadline is extended, from 6 February 2018 any clothes washers commercialised in Argentina will have to comply with the provisions of IRAM 2141-3:2017.
