THAILAND: Daily Minimum Wage Set to Increase by Up To 5%

Thailand’s Baht 300 (US$9.2) daily minimum wage is set to increase by up to 5%. The wage increase is to be implemented by 1 January 2018, following an expected formal endorsement by the Thai Labour Minister.

With wage bands tiered across Thailand, actual pay will be decided on a sliding regional scale. This will see workers in areas with a comparatively higher cost of living such as Bangkok paid at the higher end of the wage range, while those in the least developed provinces will be paid at a lower rate.
