PHILIPPINES: All Field Audits and Ongoing Tax Investigations Suspended

All ongoing cases of tax investigation in the Philippines have now been suspended, with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) withdrawing all mission orders (MOs) issued to tax officials for conducting field visits and on-site audits of businesses.

The move is part of the BIR overhaul of current tax audit guidelines and reporting standards. Previously, the Philippine government resumed in August 2016 field visits associated with cracking down tax evasions.
