CAMBODIA: Online Certificate of Origin Issuance System Piloted Prior to 2018 National Rollout

Cambodia’s first online system for issuing Certificates of Origin (CO) is being piloted in the provinces of Battambang and Pailin, both located on the country’s border with Thailand. Local businesses can now apply and print a CO through the official website of the commerce department of their respective provinces.

The online system is expected to be extended to Svay Rieng, Prey Veng, Tboung Khmum and Takeo provinces, all on the Vietnamese border, with a national roll-out expected before the end of 2018.

It is hoped the online system will help businesses, particularly those in the provinces, cut down the paperwork and time they currently have to spend while applying manually for COs at the commerce ministry’s headquarters in the capital Phnom Penh.
